stopping 'live auctions' on ebay from announcements on an iphone

I'm not sure how best to describe my question- so stick with me.

I get quite a bit of ebay traffic through the ebay app on my iphone, and open the pop ups to see if it's a message or confirmation of an offer or whatever. However I am plagued by 'live auctions' I click on the ebay 'message' and it immediately opens a live ebay auction and I have no interest in them.

I just accidentally clicked and opened one (selling Funko pops) and there was a screaming row going on between 2 people off camera about a crying baby , and nothing actually going 0n- I really don't have time for all that!.

I cannot see how to disable any 'interest' in live auctions- anyone else found a way please?

Open the eBay App and make sure you are logged into your eBay account. Once logged in, navigate to  My eBay > Settings > Notifications > Recommendations and Rewards and turn on General Promotions.

To receive important updates about live events you've registered for or items purchased prior to a stream, go to My eBay > Settings > Notifications > Shopping Updates and enable eBay Live.

Thank you, you may have saved my sanity! I've done that and hopefully that's the end of it. 

Last evening was the worst yet, nothing more embarrassing that your phone going live onto an off camera screaming baby and a blazing row!
