SAR + RoR with ECPL and DCBL

Hi,

Sent in a SAR and RoR to Euro Car Parks to obtain evidence of a parking infringement from 18/11/24 and to ensure correct contact details. Last time I sent an RoR it got passed on to the "debt collectors", obviously not this time as still recieving letters to old address.

Should I just send RoR to DBCL as well?

ECP sent the following, how to proceed?

"Thank you for your correspondence. In order for us to process your request, and to ensure our own compliance with GDPR we require that you provide reasonable evidence of your identity (the ICO recommend Photo ID) and proof of ownership of any vehicle you wish to be included in the search (for example a copy or image of a V5C document). These (copy) document(s) can either be posted to our registered offices or emailed to us using the DPO@eurocarparks.com address. Please DO NOT send any original documents (passport, V5C, etc)".

Many thanks

    What is an RoR?

ECP are telling porkie pies. The ICO don't recommend photo ID for this type of verification as their DPO doesn't have a photo of you to compare it to. The ICO recommends recent documents showing name and address is enough to identify you. So headed documents such as V5C, council tax, bank statement etc showing your name and address only, all other info is redacted.

    RoR = Right of rectification

Thanks for the info. Will send over a redacted/cropped bank statement.

    Thanks.
If letters are still going to old address best to send to DCBL DPO too.

    Following on from this thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6629387/sar-ror-with-ecpl-and-dcbl#latest

Claim form sent to wrong address as only sent current information to ECP originally and not yet sent email to DCBL. Still not obtained original evidence from ECP. Was apparently an overstay at a petrol station somehow. Original date is 19/11/24.

Claim letter dated 23/09/25. It says the time allowed to respond is 14 days from the service date, which is from 5 days after the above date, so I presume by 12/10/25.

    Current cost now £266.16.

If anyone could advise next course of action and/or direct to where it could be read that would be great.

Use the template defence and file through MCOL. All in the stickied thread.

You'll need to write something for paragraph 3.

Make sure the court is aware of your correct address.

They always discontinue, so it's just going through the motions.

My apologies, just found the MCOL section then saw your post.

In regards to ECP having been given the correct address details via a Right of Rectification but then filing this against the wrong address, does this need to be brought up anywhere.

It probably does, but it will be DCB Legal that filed the claim against the old address,  not ECP

No point sending an email to DCBL, they are not involved

Once you complete the AOS online on MCOL,  your defence deadline is 4pm, 33 days after the issue date,  so 4pm on 27th October

Please ask for your threads to be merged.

One thread, one case works best for you & us.
Yeah I did look at trying to change title on the last post. Given the short time frame due to only just getting the post collected I put a new post with a new title.

Hopefully that is the issue date, in which case @Gr1pr is correct.
You must send or submit either the completed acknowledgment of service form or
a defence to the court within 14 days of the date of service. If you send or submit
the acknowledgment of service you must send or submit a defence to the court to arrive
no later than 28 days from the date of service. Date of service is five days after date of issue.
With an issue date of 23/09/25 and providing you complete(d) the AoS after 28/09/25 and before 12/10/25
your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 27/10/25

"Claim form sent to wrong address."

This is your biggest problem. The CNBC's admin is shocking. I'd probably send two emails a week apart, telling them and DCB Legal your new address for service and insisting they erase the old address completely.

    "Erase". No other word.

Of course you myst ALSO do the AOS and defend. They don't remind you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
