Private parking charge while visiting pets at home (total parking solution)

Hey I wonder if anyone can help me, I am currently challenging a "fine" for overstaying at a pets at home car park by 13 minutes, customers are allowed additional time by inputting their registration into an ipad within the shop, for whatever reason I hadn't done this (don't know whether I forgot or if there was an issue with the ipads in store). Regardless, I am able to prove that I was in fact a customer of the vets with a signed and dated pet vaccination record. 

the original charge was sent to an old address back in November 2024, I hadn't updated my v5 until the start of January (my fault, I understand), my license however was up to date. Therefore, I had no knowledge of any supposed contravention, fast forward almost a year and dcblegal have tried to chase me up in regards to said charge. 

Despite proof of being a customer, Total Parking Solutions have replied to me now saying it doesn't matter if I was a customer and that i now owe them £170. 

I have absolutely no intention in giving away my money for this issue and am happy to fight them over it. 

Any advice on the best course of action/ response to this action would be hugely appreciated.

Await the claim form.

Tell them if you move house again and also email their DPO now to tell them to erase the old address and not use it again.

This is needed even though they've traced your new address. You cannot leave them with a choice of two addresses.

TPS do sometimes go all the way to a hearing. But I'm assuming it's rather difficult to use an iPad to extend your stay when you are in a different room holding an animal that's being injected, especially if things are running a bit behind schedule
