AutoPay failure Luton Point (arndale)

I parked at the Luton Point (Arndale) car park and set up auto pay in 2022. I parked at the point on the 27th of July 2025, as I had many times before, with no issues. However, on the 27th ParkJockey didn't take the money from my account although there was a valid card on the account and sufficient funds. they sent me a parking fine letter stating I hadn't paid, so I had to pay £100, reduced to £60 if paid up quickly. I appealed, saying auto pay was my method of payment, but my appeal was rejected. I appealed to Poplar, who said that I broke the contract for parking without payment and refused my appeal. For me, it seems that it is a failure of their systems, and if they did not attempt to take payment as they have done for the past 3 years, then that is not my fault. Their website says, "drive in and out without worrying" after setting up autopay. Should I allow this to go to court? Thanks in advance for your comments and advice on this.

Should I allow this to go to court?Yes. Is it NCP, or which parking firm?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Appalling POPLA decision.
Anyway, this will likely go to DCB Legal and then they will discontinue a few months after you file your defence.Find out the T&Cs for your original auto-pay contract. In theory you could counterclaim if you really wanted to.2 -
I will read through the T&Cs. Thanks0
