London hotels

We are looking to staying in London for three nights 23/11 - 26/11 not sure if to stop in central London or on the outskirts. Looking to use a lovely hotel as it is mine and hubbys 50th birthdays . We are looking at options for travelling from Nottingham. Options are so far train, coach or hubby driving down leaving the car in a secure car park and getting tube/train in to stay. Any recommendations are welcome 🤗

You might need to give a bit of a steer on what you plan to do in London for areas to help others advise.
I've stayed in The Great Scotland Yard Hotel, which was really nice and conveniently located for some theatres

If you're getting the train down, you'll presumably be going into St Pancras? There's a nice boutique hotel close by, between Kings Cross and St Pancras

Personally I'd stay fairly central to avoid spending lots of time on the tube / buses.

Train coach or car would work, so it depends on your preference. Train will be fastest and probably most expensive (consider a Two together railcard). Car would mean parking somewhere like Watford Junction train station (YourParkingSpace app usually has parking at nearby hotel car parks cheaper than the station) or Stanmore tube near Junction 5, Brent Cross tube near the bottom of the M1.

As for hotels, it depends on your style and price range.

@oggy1975, I’ll move this to the UK holiday board, rather than overseas travel.
