Is there a definition of earnings for CA? Is it the same as for UC where dividends and salary from the company are earnings?

The dividends would be from a personal company. So not self employed. An employee of the company and shareholder. I know that UC regs say earnings are salary plus divis from the company0

If I remember correctly dividend payments are classed as income from capital, not earned income. As such any dividend payments are not counted when determining eligibility for carers allowance.0

If I read the thread correctly, the OP is Sole Shareholder and Director for their own Ltd Co.
In the case of UC, that would be treated as self-employment and the assessment of earnings would "pierce through the veil" of the Ltd Co. to determine underlying income per assessment period (after permitted expenses are deducted).
I do not know whether the assessment of earnings for Carers Allowance is on the similar basis.1
