Small Cleaning Business Service Agreement

Can anyone suggest a cleaning service agreement template we could use for office and school cleaning. We have just started a partnership and have insurance in place. Thanks.

I would suggest you review the terms and conditions for other contract cleaning services that advertise on the internet. Many will have their T&Cs online. You will want to pick out the clauses that seem important and relevant to you and your business.

I think I would create a draft set of T&Cs, and then find a solicitor that will look over them and give you advice. It might seem expense and unnecessary to do this, but you don't want to be thinking you have protections in your contracts with customers that aren't enforcible.

With all contracts, I always advise people to focus on the Termination Clause. You have to know how you will get out of a contract if you need to.

Good luck with your new business!
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Agree with the advice to get t&c checked by a solicitor, one who deals with this area of the law rather than conveyancing, family or criminal law.

    You can't afford not to.

Thank-you. Is it just terms and conditions we need to send customers legally or do we need each customer to sign a contract however small the job? It's a simple partnership, we are not employing anyone, I want to keep it simple.

There is no legal requirement for any written contract. But in a business to business situation it would be unwise not to have a written contract
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Sometimes trade associations for a line of business provide templates for terms and conditions, policies, etc.  Googling 'cleaning business trade association' brings up several organisations who may be able to help (CSSA and BCC etc.).  They may also be able to help with insurance and other matters and be worth joining in any case.
