Gift card help

Hello, I received an adidas gift card for my birthday. Was purchased from Tesco.
I came to use it today, scratched off the PIN number box but there is no PIN number there, making the card totally unusable.
Adidas are saying as it’s from Tesco it’s their responsibility and Tesco are saying it’s Adidas’s responsibility. Where do I go from here?
Thanks

As didn't purchase it, you have no consumer rights. Whoever purchased it, however, does have consumer rights and these will be against the retailer, i.e. Tesco.

As above, the purchaser needs to take it back to Tesco with their receipt.
