Fishy smell coming from the car

Hey guys
I have noticed this week a fishy smell coming from the car. I noticed it on Tuesday when I'd gone out and it was fine before that. It's running ok and I checked by lifting the bonnet and there was slight odour but nothing as bad.
The smell is disappearing I noticed this morning and now I sat back in and it's almost gone. It's a Seat Leon diesel. I'm a bit concerned to drive it if it's anything to do with the oil or exhaust.
Has anyone had anything similar or the same before?

It could be leaking coolant evaporating on the hot engine- check the level.Sometimes failing electrical components smell odd- almost fishy, you'll have to see if something isn't working properly. It could be something in a puddle that you ran through and splashed up onto the exhaust. It could even be someone's idea of a "Wizard Jape"- I believe they call anything that causes distress/humiliation to others for the perpetrator's amusement a "prank" nowadays.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

The doors stopped functioning properly but it happened gradually. I can only open them from inside all but the driver door. The cigarette lighter thing has never worked and the aux stopped working a few years and now the cd player is acting up. Could it be electrical?0

It sounds very much like you have an electrical problem, but it's unlikely to be related to the fishy smell.Unless it's an eel-lectrical problemN. Hampshire, he/him. I had a diesel VW Passat that often used to smell of cabbage.
It used to seep into the cabin when reversing so I assume it was just exhaust smell after CAT/DPF had modified it.
It was never a problem- the car had 147,000 miles on when I got rid and it never missed a beat.0 -
