Letter of Claim from DCB Legal Ltd. Please HELP!

hello everyone, I'm very new to this so please bare with me if I say something that is obvious to you.

My wife's father received a LOC from DCB Legal on behalf of Capital Car Park Control Ltd demanding £1,870. They issued 11 PCNs. I have attached the letter to this post. The car is on his name but it's only ever used by my wife, my father in law has never used the car.

The sum is extortionate, nearly doubling due to the added "fee". I need advice on what to do and how to deal with this.

The PCNs were from when my wife was staying at my mums house where there's very limited street parking and the whole area is "private land". She decided to leave her car parked in the car park of a pub.

The recipient  ( not you , but the RK, the father   ) needs to read post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad and email the LoC response template to DCB LEGAL,  to their info@ email address

Currently neither you nor your wife are involved,  but you can assist the father as helpers

Alternatively,  the recipient,  the father,  could name the driver to CCPC , the parking company,  and the driver would have to subsequently deal with it

Due to the number of pcns and the outstanding amount,  a court claim will happen,  especially if the vehicle was fly parking on a private car park at that pub

Whoever chooses to fight this, should consider employing Contestor Legal,  due to the amount involved and the number of pcns

You need to pass on the above details ASAP

    OK so:

    - reply (using the LBC response in post 2 of the NEWBIES thread) as FIL but giving a 'new address for service' which is your postal address. That way FIL can let you receive the claim form and put his defence (in his name of course but always giving YOUR address and YOUR email so you handle the paperwork. He could add a few words asking for a copy of all the PCNs (if he has binned them) as is his right under the pre-action protocol.

    - when the claim form arrives, he defends as keeper (using our template defence) and also then stating he wasn't driving and saying the C didn't comply with the POFA so he can't be held liable*

    * copies of all PCNs will help confirm this
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

thank you for your response, @Gr1pr said that we should consider employing Contestor Legal and that another option is that my FIL can name the driver and then the driver would have to deal with it. Is that also your suggestion?

Yep, all are good options but whichever you choose I would strongly recommend he changes his service address to yours if he is either vulnerable, stressed or likely to cave in.
