Insurance Renewal 35% Cheaper Than Year Before from Same Insurer (RAC)

Hi everyone,

  Just to pick up on MSE's assertion about car insurance coming down this year, my renewal offer from the RAC 3 weeks ago for our car was 35% cheaper than the year before, and I could not beat it on cost and features using comparison websites.  So we all should hopefully find cheaper insurance in the weeks and months ahead.

Same with me. Mine went from £320 last year to £249 this.

Comparison sites didnt come close to my renewal

My renewal frome churc...  Was £348   same company on compare the market for exactly same policy was £242 

Rang them and they wouldn't match price    Thay did match the price  last year 

Went with Rac via compare market £ 196 with exactly the same cover .... Oh and windscreen cover had less excess with rac

So last year you bought over the phone which will be why on an aggregator there are lower prices.

This year they wouldn't match compare market price , same company
