Beko Freezer not working?

I've got a Beko fridge freezer and it seems like every now and again the freezer stops working.   I've just taken out some bread and it's virtually defrosted . And usually when the freezing is working ok there's a low level humming noise but it's silent now.

This has happened before and it seems to start working again.  Does anyone know if this is normal or is there something wrong with it?  thanks

Clearly there is something wrong with it ! Probably the thermostat is playing up, but just a guess.

Can't speak for Beko but this happened to me with a new built in freezer recently. It was still working but some items in the top drawer were virtually defrosted. 

I put it down to the fact that I had hung a tea towel on the door handle and possibly this had caught in the door leaving it slightly open at some point or possibly I just hadn't closed it properly. 

I defrosted the freezer (ice had built up at the top), moved the tea towel and 👍 all has been fine since.

My new integrated fridge has a warning beeper if the door is left open. It's irritating but I wish the freezer had one too. 🤣

This might not be your issue but something to think about. 🤔

Where is it sited ? What is the room temperature around it.
