455w Bifacial Vs 480w Monofacial solar panel

I am torn between choosing these two panels for my south faced pitched roof with grey tiles.
A 455w Bifacial with 23% efficiency Vs 480w Monofacial with 24% efficiency.

Any experts with experience of handling or comparing both, please suggest me which one is too choose from. Ignoring the price between them as labour is going to cost a lot anyway.

Thanks,
Rus.

DMEG 455w bifacial Vs LONGi 480w Monofacial
    They're both mass-market Chinese-manufactured panels.
I'm going to guess that Screwdriva will say that you should be buying 500W Eurener panels instead of either of those.
However, of the two you've named, they're much of a muchness. If you're not painting the roof or doing anything else to favour the bifacial option, the 480w Longi is lkely to produce a bit more electricity than the 455w DMEG.

Rather interestingly, one (of 3) of the installers I use sells both DMEG and Eurener panels. No prizes for guessing which one has a higher breakage/ failure rate. DMEG is available wholesale at a 45% discount to Eurener, which would explain why the Chinese owned brands are becoming the only option offered to many.

All the installers I use (to help others) do not sell Longi due to past quality concerns.

I like the Eurener 500W panels because they offer a chance to generate more power per sq ft. of roof real estate (the panels are ~150mm taller) by filling otherwise unused roof spaces (see image below). They are also far more ethical.  Eurener also make a similar sized 475W bifacial panel which is nearly 24% efficient!

Incase you're wondering, bifacial (albedo) gains are the gains measured over the peak/ nominal panel rating and can range from 8-17% in real world conditions.

Here's a video of a bifacial panel's outperformance relative to a monofacial panel on the same roof aspect with no roof painting.  Hope this helps? Definitely keep searching for an installer who will offer you quality kit at the right price.

    -  Triple aspect. (33% ENE.33% SSE. 34% WSW)
