i got a parking ticket the other day, hubby dropped me off near the cinema (it was daughters bday and then parked, he put my disabled badge on dash board but inadvertantly put it round the wrong way!!!! when we came out we had a parking ticket .... we have been told that as it was a misuse of the badge we have to pay .... i paid the £30 but am still cross about it!!!!! flipping council and their jobsworths!!!!! lol

Unfortunately in the rules for disabled parking badges, it does state the the badge must be correctly displayed, i.e. round the right way, with clock showing etc.

:( it's one of those differences between the letter of the law and spirit of it, isn't it!! i got a parking ticket just before christmas too.... rubbish (10 mins over a 1hr limit in a bay - with room for 15 or so cars and only 3 other parked there - seemed so pointless and just a money generation exercise rather than a way of keeping spaces free... but they have my money now and i'll be much more careful!)

You will laugh at this one. Moved my car from the front of my house to clear the driveway up. Parked it directly outside house. Not in a bay.

Went to the back to drop the rubbish off and sort it out, goner maybe 5 mins max. Come back and had a ticket. I even have a parking permit.

What could i do !! Not alot but pay as in London and query it after. Think I got that one back.

But they are real pains in the a***, there is not leaway just right or wrong.

Even where i live they brought in a ticket machine so noone stays there more than 3 hours. It is free parking. 1st day they handed out over 90 tickets, I just think its a preempt to charge for in the future.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.
