The online service is excellent in my experience.

I've renewed 3 passports in the last 2 years and the experience was great each time, (even with one that had a bit of a complicated issue).

    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I didn't think that the online service worked for someone that did not have a driver's licence.  I'm assuming that the 16yo here may not have that.

    Why not?

There must be thousands of people with passports who do not have a driving licence.

Passport office do not use driving licence photo.

You can do it online with a digital photograph.

Are you thinking of DVLA using passport photographs for driving licence?

How is the signature done online?

I understand the expired passport has to be sent off back to passport office. This will probably need to be sent special delivery just incase it gets lost?

My only concern is that if I do it online and the passport office have something they want to clarify something my child can't do that because of his needs. Will they allow me to speak for him ?

The confirming person (I don't know the term, and this is all secondhand from a family member who's recently applied for theirs) sees the photograph, then fills out their details online via a link sent to them by e-mail.
