Letter of Claim from DCB Legal

So I never received any sort of correspondence regarding a fine from ParkMaven Limited. But I did receive a notice of debt recovery from DCBL Bailiff's to pay £170. After receiving the first one, an email was sent to them stating that the car was being used by a resident of the area who has a permit on another vehicle and this car was being borrowed by them with no response. I received 2 more both which I ignored.

I have now received the letter from DCB Legal with a formal letter of claim. I've read quite a few of the cases on the forum but I am quite confused as to what I should do. I am very happy to fight it if possible.

Any assistance will be thoroughly appreciated.

Study post 4 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum regarding ignoring powerless debt collectors letters like DCBL

Then study post 2 and follow the response template advice to info@ dcb legal email address to respond to this new Letter of Claim from DCB Legal

Post 4 of the NEWBIES thread already shows that first letter in the pictures. And post 2 already has a reply to a LoC.

  • I spent 18 months battling these jokers. Stand your ground, ask for evidence and keep communicating with them. They refused to provide photographic evidence of my alleged infringement or the parking signs.

I got as far as a court date in the small claims track following several letters, phone calls mediation etc.

A month before the date was set I got a call from them with a reduced offer of payment which I refused and last minute they pulled out, it costs them too much to take it to court.

It’s a disgrace that they are wasting public resources booking courts and mediation services with the intent on frightening people into paying them. It’s basically legal extortion, happily enough the courts seem to be on to them.

    My advice -

Stand your ground - ask for evidence
Don’t ignore them - be mindful of timescales

    Good luck.

To give some context, I have access to two addresses and asked for contact at one as per the template email. They never sent out an initial PCN and their final reminder came so late that there was no time to appeal. I wasn't the driver of the car, a friend was who has residency and a permit in that car park.

Then why are they protesting that it's a shopping centre and not a residential site?
