Failure to display-on a park direct ticket

Hi, my son paid for a ' just park' space but failed to see the info regarding displaying a residential permit [left under a doormat ) and received a PCN from Park Direct-i have appealed but told he failed to follow instructions.
Have revieced several debt collectors letters amount now at £170 -. ! Would be so grateful for advise

Tell him to ignore Park Direct (unless he moves house because he must check every letter) but don't show us the £170 threatograms as these are already shown in pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES FAQS thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
