VWFS Charges?

Just returned a vehicle to VWFS and the inspection has found a broken/snapped boot hook (the little plastic thing that the parcel shelf loops onto).

They are trying to charge £280 for it (see pic).

Does anyone have any experience with VWFS, it seems ridiculous!

Many thanks in advance

It might seem a lot but that looks like you'd have to replace the whole plastic panel so the price is probably about what you'd expect for parts and labour

If it's a VW service that would replace it it will be very high priced.  I had an issue with a VW up that the dealership wanted over £1k to sort but Haskins did it for £50.  Is trying an independent an option?

Anyone else had experience with VWFS and getting them to back down?

They were very reasonable with mine but then I'd fixed most the minor issues before giving it back to avoid being subject to their inspections. The only thing that the guy actually added was some "dry paint" (thought paint should be dry) which just meant the lip of the wing under the bonnet hadn't been waxed. He said the charge would be £6.50 but nothing was ever actually charged.

Why did you return it broken rather than fix it before?

I had one of those snap, cost me about £2 to get a replacement from eBay that was slightly bigger , drilled a hole and pushed new one through.

    sorry that’s no help now
