Help! How do I reduce a long link to 'Click here'

the title says it all!

I want to put a very long link in an email but I know there is a way to replace all that blurb with the words 'Click here' or even 'Here'

Easy directions please! I am not a computer whizz.

Email hygiene best practice would suggest that you do not put anything in an email other than the full link. 

Many mail servers (particularly corporate ones) will reject or quarantine mail with these links. 

If you do want to shorten an address then there are lots of services that will do it for you, but they all need you to set up an account and will be redirecting your shortened link via their servers.

Bitly.com is probably the best known (since the demise of Google's own service).

Whatever email programme/app/client you are using then look for a "chain" icon in the menu bar to make a link to some text (you usually have to highlight the text first).

If you are on a phone you may need to turn it sideways to see more of the menu options.

I'm using Yahoo.

The link is to a You tube video rather than text.

Not to worry- it just looks very long winded!

Thanks everyone- I now see that if I click on the You Tube link beside the 'short' that I want I get the teeny YouTube link rather than the very long Google search.
Problem solved.
