CCJ -DCBL - Smart Parking - Help required

I received a Judgment for claimant letter from Civil National Business Centre dated 9th September for a CCJ for £582. Claimant is Smart Parking Limited and Name and address for payment is DCB Legal. I contacted DCB Legal and they informed me it was for 2 parking fines for insufficient paid time. 03/2022 images show car entering car park was entered at 11:12 and left at 14:34. 09/2020 images show car entering car park at 11:47 and left at 12:54. The car park has 45mins free parking, and I'm assuming the time has gone over by 22mins and 7mins, so surely that would be covered by the free 45mins?? I never received the Court Claim letter, and I was also away on holiday from the 16th August to 2nd September 2025. I need advice on if I have any grounds to request the judgement to be set aside as I never got the opportunity to defend the claim. DCB Legal have told me to pay the full amount to get the CCJ removed. HELP!!

You need to phone the CNBC in Northampton ASAP and ask them for the basic details,  plus find out the name and postal address that the N1SDT claim form went to, either your current address or probably a previous address

I would expect that it went to an old address,  meaning that you can request a set aside due to incorrect service of papers,  namely to an old or incorrect address etc

Study a few recent similar cases first,  to see what they asked for and why , especially when they phoned the CNBC,  because you need to know the claim reference number,  the Particulars of Claim,  plus the name and address it was posted to

So digging first, gather the information required,  then you write a special complaint to the lawyers,  DCB LEGAL

Yep you need a copy of the POC and to find out if the claim went to an old address. If it did, these cases are especially easy to set aside.

See the 'CCJ set aside' section of the NEWBIES thread post 2.

I would be wary of taking anything they say as fact.
