I can use instant savers and rename them on nationwide, is this just as good as monzo or starling?

It's the same idea but Monzo/Starling does it better. You can autosave etc...
I like the fact transactions show up straight away with Mozo/Startling too. With old fashion banks (building society) like Nationwide it is too easy to be caught out by transactions showing hours or days later.0 -
Starling I like the fact they tell you the day before that a DD is going out, at least for the first time - but it shows as pending.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

It depends what you want from it. Nationwide are extremely old fashioned and their app is very rudimentary. For day to day budgeting with a current account then Monzo and Starling are vastly better as you can create pots on the fly, have direct debits come out of specific pots, along with lots of other very useful features. If you just want a few different savings accounts to keep money in and don't change them very often then Nationwide will do the job.0
