Hotel Gotham afternoon tea - booked months ago at advertised price, now they want us to pay more

Hi, as the title says. we booked afternoon tea at Hotel Gotham months ago using a BuyaGift voucher.  The voucher code was accepted when we booked and the person we spoke to booked us in.
We've now just had a call from them to say that they will be charging anyone using vouchers, an extra £10 per person due to the fact that the date we booked, falls within the Christmas period, (6th Dec).  Nothing to this effect was mentioned when we booked and when we pointed this out to them, they said it's because 'it's only just been decided'.  Can they do this?! There are four of us going, so an extra £40 to spend on top of the cost of the initial vouchers...

Have you looked at the terms of the conditions both of the voucher and the booking?

In principle it can be constructed such that prices can vary similarly as vouchers can be for a fixed amount or a fixed service with or without blackout periods. The devils in the detail.

What options have they given you other than paying the extra £10pp?
