Good job that education for your kid is paid for by the State, no problems at all missing a few days.

If you were paying 9 grand a term to educate your precious one I bet you wouldn't be pulling them out of school for an overseas jolly.
Knowing parents of private sector educated children it is quite the opposite.  Removing children during term time is a perk of paying for education as there are no sanctions for doing so.
  • Half term is directly after so can tell her friends and school she has been on holiday. No tan would raise an eyebrow

  • Well as suspected had a few answers which are judgemental and rude.

I won't go into how teachers have days off training. Covid all time off school. She broke her arm last year had 6 weeks total off for it but still hitting her targets.

I was simply asking if the fine applies to less then 10 sessions regardless of family holidays or not.

I dont want a parenting lesson thank you of what am I teaching my child. Honestly knew this was mistake asking here but thank you for those who replied non judgemental

You are asking the wrong people. No one here can say Yes or No...
As stated N Yorks covers many councils. Each will have their own procedures.
So in reality all you can do is put in your request & hope for the best.

There are 175 days per academic year when pupils are off in accordance with published holiday dates, compared to 190 days when schools are open for their attendance.
So looking for extra convenience days off is a bit difficult to justify IMO.

North Yorkshire is now a unitary authority.  The only part of the county which has a separate council is York.

The number of days kids are in school take these into account. Here its 190 days, if they chuck a training day in the middle of term guess what, its still 190 days as they will put an extra teaching day at the end.
