Euro carpark pcn matilda street

I received a pcn today from euro car parks saying no valid pay and display/permit was purchased.

My mum had passed away and the day in question we were on our way to register her death.

When paying i pressed something for more time as I wasn't sure how long it would take and it went passed the part for registration number but it accepted my payment and gave me a ticket.

I did wonder why when I had put in reg number if it would come up after but it just took payment so I thought it must be ok as surely it wouldn't give me a ticket if I had done it wrong.

Obviously I wasn't in the right frame of mind and was at this point rushing after having to do a 75 point turn and practically getting stuck in a corner as the bit you used to be able to drive round to get to the other side is now another parking space!

Anyway my head is allover the place losing my mum and trying to just get through the day is a challenge.

I found my parking receipt (ticket must be somewhere in car also)
Pressed appeal on euro car parks website and jystvsaid a parking ticket was purchased and uploaded the picture of it.

Do I have a chance with appealing this?

I was going to try and find out the land owner and explain the situation to them?

Think I will have a job on as nothing coming up o. Google and my brain is just not working as it should.

Hoping someone can please help x

Yes you do have a good chance, even if ECP blame the human instead of their faulty machines,  a common problem

Fellow campaigner Lynda Eagan shows in this video how these machines fail like this:

Just ignore ECP. There's no appeal but you don't have a fine and you don't pay these.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I doubt it,  ECP dont own car parks, they manage the parking on behalf of their client

Personally I'd appeal and include a scan of the death certificate and explain what you've told us.

If they refuse I'd go to a local paper. It would just be the archetypal private parking story.

Different company numbers,  so 2 separate companies with some common directors

ECP Holdings plc seems to be the property side of the business,  Euro Car Parks Ltd is the car park management company
