Medical Condition Disclosure Life insurance policy

The investigation and tests were related to last 2 years only for high blood pressure and diabetes or for any autoimmune diseases. I had minor ankle and thumb injuries, which were not covered as part of detailed questionnaire.dunstonh said:The very next day, I took out a life insurance policy and answered “no” to existing conditions, since I hadn’t been diagnosed with anything and wasn’t on medication. There is normally a question asking if you have any tests, investigations etc in the previous 3 to5 years. (actual period varies with providers)
What did you answer to that question? At the time I applied, there was no diagnosis and A&E had cleared me, so I believe I answered honestly — but I’m unsure if the initial high reading should have been mentioned. If you failed to make any reference to it in the application, then almost certainly you have committed non-disclosure of a material fact that would likely lead to death as a result of a heart condition, resulting in a rejection.
You should check your application to see how you answered the questions as based on what you have said, it appears you have a non-disclosure issue.
It is also unlikely that it would be treated as inadvertent non-disclosure, as you applied for the insurance the day after the incident.
The other option for me is to wait for further tests and take the insurance with the help of brokers/professionals who have more knowledge in these areas.
Fyi…
1.There is a cooling off period for 14 days, so I am thinking of cancelling and taking a new insurance by involving professional advisers.
2. I have employer insurance covered x5 of my salary including payment protection for 2 years. The above insurance was a safety net, if at some point I had to leave my employer for any reasons.
