Remaining as Appointee for DLA

I have been appointee for my son's DLA for many years. He has just been awarded Universal Credit and I have been named as his appointee for this. I don't think he needs me to help with this. If I remove myself from this role for UC can I remain as his DLA appointee?

Why would he need one for dla and not for uc? Hes able to manage his own finances or not, you don't get to pick and choose.?
  •  There will be less work involved managing DLA  than UC so if he is capable of managing UC he should be capable of managing DLA.

Did he receive DLA as a child and moving to adult benefits as PIP is the adult benefit? Is he aware he gets DLA?
