Clapham Common Sainsburys Euro Car Parks LTD now Debt Recovery Plus Advice Needed

Hi,
Advice Needed. I parked at the Clapham Common Sainsburys in London and managed to forget to pay the £1 parking fee for an hour. I received Eurocarparks £100 fine and now it is with Debt Recovery Plus at £170. Should I pay as it was my mistake or fight it as its unreasonable that a £1 fee has escalated to £170? Sorry couldn't see an example of this on the Newbie thread. I would assume Sainsbury's as Landowner is first place to try and get it cancelled but they have not got back to me. FYI I have not contacted Euro car parks or DRP as is advised.
Thanks for your help.
cheers

Definitely not a fine,  just an invoice from a private parking company,  ECP

Post 4 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad clearly tells victims to ignore the powerless debt collectors,  especially DRPL, nor DCBL either

Keep trying plan A in the newbies sticky thread,  trying to get Sainsbury's to cancel it due to you using their stores

There are thousands of threads on here where an invoice has gone to the debt collectors and they expect people to pay the £170, don't   !

    File the letters away

Come back to this thread if or when you receive a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice,  or a Money Claim,  in which case study post 2 in the newbies sticky thread

    No paying   !
  • Thanks so much!
  • Well it's hardly well signed that you have to pay, and there doesn't seem to be any entrance signage that conforms to the joint COP:
