Requesting pointers on appeal (Met Parking)

Hello, I have spent a lot of time on the newbie thread and searching the forum but i am really struggling to determine what my correct next step is.  If anyone feels willing to give me a pointer please do. Many thanks

I received a 'notice to keeper' from Met Parking Services. I parked in a McDonalds car park for 129 minutes and the max stay was 90 minutes.

I appealed using the exact template in blue on the newbies thread, then was emailed a rebuttal from MET with photos of the car park signage etc.

the options presented were 1 - pay up 2 - popla appeal or 3 they will seek to recover money.

I am assuming i go through with Popla appeal, but i am struggling to determine what i should write or what approach i should take.

Any hints very welcome.   Car park was near newcastle fyi

What did McD's say when you complained to them?  Check the NEWBIE sticky third post for pointers as to how to complete a POPLA appeal but on what grounds will you appeal?  Were you held up by slow service or a queue in the car park trying to exit?
