Dubai short stay

Me and my husband are thinking of a quick trip to Dubai in a few weeks time. We can't take long off work, so would have 3 full days there plus travel time.
Looking at hotel sites, and the options are overwhelming! I've been reading up, and it sounds like the Marina area or the nearby JBR beach area might be a good area to stay.
Just wondered if anyone on here has done similar? Any specific suggestions?
We realise we won't try to see or do everything, but some sun, and a bit of sightseeing sounds perfect right now.

We usually stay dubai hilton jumeirah , on beach at jbr, nr marina. Any hotel in that area is suitable, depending on budget.
1. Big red bus tour, trip around dubai and hop on /off at dubai mall, gold souk, palm or wherever.
2. Day around hotel/beach, followed by miracle garden and global village in evening.
3. Visit another mall or attraction in morning, relax afternoon and stroll around marina/ walk area in evening.
We are active 70yrs therefore your requirements may differ, Dubai has great options and variety.
Mostly everything is expensive but taxis are very reasonable and we use them a lot.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the hotel.0

Hotel is reasonable price, great location and good standard. Excellent for 3 night visit. The sky is the limit for top end luxury hotels if you have high budget.
BRIEFLY check Dubai map,
Areas 1: the palm , beach style, high quality but isolated.
2. Downtown : more city style, high quality and city like.
3. Deira/creek : older dubai, more Arabic, lively outdoor souks etc.
4. Marina/jbr : beach style, restaurants shops etc. British favourite.
Taxi are plentiful and reasonable , use official cream colour cabs ( metered, take cards).
For only 3 nights I wouldn't stress about hotel, you will seldom be in it! Regards

Dubai is spread along the coast/Sheikh Zayed Rd which means sights can be quite far apart.
My advice would be to plot (use Google Maps and save the places you want to visit) where the sights you want to see are before deciding on a hotel.
I stayed near the Financial Centre Metro and used the Metro a lot to travel. We were there 5 days and very much on a trip to see the sites rather than beach or pool time.0 -
If you only have 3 days, staying around Dubai Marina or JBR is perfect. You’ll have the beach, lots of restaurants, and easy access to the metro.0

Thanks all, we're weighing up all the options. Looks like the return flight (which we'd be tied to) has a timetable change, and leaves at 01.55 which is putting us off a bit.0

I'd also add one of the water parks into the list but that depends on your age and if it's something you enjoy. Wild Wadi is smaller than Atlantis but Atlantis would need a full dayRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
