Hi I recently had my roof replaced and all invoices paid. It started leaking jn a number of places a few weeks after install.Company keep making excuses to not come out to fix leaks. Having a deeper look at the roof theres lots of shoddy work.
I have a digital record of the chat, list of the agreed works. That list states bits they havent done. Im getting letter together to send them, using the citizens advice template letter.also intend to include pics and list out all defects giving them 2 weeks to sort everything.Ive been asking them for weeks to fix the leaks as one is above a light switch, but they stil havent attended.Ive not mentioned the rest if the list yet so thought it best to give them 2 weeks so that if I need to go via switchback or small claims court Ive given them a decent opportunity.

Once time us up and nothing done Ill then ask for a price reduction using other roofers quotes for evidence of costs to make good.

Does this sound correct any advice you can give me of what to do/not do?I just want to make sure I have beat case to get funds back.
Also intend to give them poor reviews online to help nudge along payments, but is it better not to until everything has gone through and Ive had funds returned?

How about delivering the letter? Can be done registered post email with read receipt but even those aren't definite proof of delivery

What does your intended letter say you intend to do if they don’t come and fix it?

Just get proof of posting from post office. It is then taken as delivered after so many days.

If they are disputing what needs doing to fully correct the defects you may need to get an independent expert report detailing the necessary work.

Quotes from other tradesmen may not be sufficient evidence as it would be easy to suggest that they are inflating the job beyond what is actually necessary.

When do I need to ask if they are member of a ADR scheme? Is that at the letter for repeat performance or price reduction letter?
Also can I send letter via whats app as well as post/email. Whats app has a feature to say its been viewed.read receipts can be refused and the letter just says you delivered something but not specifically.Just checking as I dint want to screw up anything legally by serving letter incorrectly later.
