Painting - cutting in with no 'hard line'!

Bit if an odd one this, which I'm clearly overthinking.. Currently the inside of my front door is white and the ceiling is also white. Where the two meet is sort of a small curve (think a wide thumb having used caulk or similar - not something deliberate!).
The inside of the door will soon be a strong dark colour, but with a see of white, and no clear right angle it's not clear how I'll get a good line.
I offered up some masking tape but being a double set of doors we're talking a line the width of the hall, so say 2m or so.
I thought about pushing a skimming blade along the ceiling to the door and drawing a pencil line or something but that doesn't look to yield good results (doesn't help the skimming blade is 20cm long lol).
Any help much appreciated. Whilst pics may be thought useful, you'd get a white ceiling, a white bit of wood, and a sort of blur between the two, so not that useful!

Okay, so perhaps a picture would help. This also shows the attempt using the skimming blade, yeah, not great!
My wife reckons we should get some kind of trim like quarter round or something - interesting she's basically thinking of making a hard line from something, which will stay. I'm not keen on the idea, as we wouldn't do it all the way down the sides, so it'll probably look odd.

There's what almost looks like a crack along the top of the wooden frame above the window. I'd aim to make that the transition point between dark below and ceiling above, and because of the dark below, the crack won't be noticeable? You could even argue that the crack, if there is one, will make it easier to paint up to in each direction as you could insert a bit of card or something into it to act as a shield when painting?1

Yeah, there is a hairline crack, which is sort of ceilio, just about, or probably more the join between the two.
Yeah, I did wonder about some kind of painting shield, but having a look with a straight edge the ceiling isn't 100% flat, so I'd end up with a line that's not straight. Hmm, decisions!0 -
Leave a narrow horizontal white strip in the conner at the top of brown door.0

For wonky corners between walls, I put a straight line on the flat of one wall, close to the corner and paint to that, which works well. For the door, I'd put put the straight line above the curve and paint up to that - otherwise the straight line would be on the door frame and make the top bar look shorter than the others.
To draw the line - pick a height and use a spirit level (stand back and double check it looks right- your ceiling and/or doors and/or walls might be wonky.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Cheers, yeah I found a length of fencing in the shed that's almost the same length, I'll hold it, by wife can see if it looks decent then draw the line!0
