Cancellation/curtailment travel insurance for medical reasons

We've booked a week long holiday in Wales for later this year. My girlfriend is on a waiting list for an operation (for a known & diagnosed condition) but we have no idea how long the waiting list is, and can't find it. 

We're wondering whether it's possible to get cancellation/curtailment insurance that'll cover us if the hospital call with an operation date that impacts the holiday. 

Can anyone recommend a provider?

I doubt it as the risk of the insurance company having to pay out for a event that is likely to happen is quite high (in their terms)
Certainly used to be able to tell waiting list offices that there were certain weeks people couldn't accept for operations

Almost guaranteed that any insurer would exclude the current condition given the knowledge that cancellation is possible.

As above, with a high chance of the insurance needing to pay out it is likely the insurance premiums would be almost as expensive as the holiday.
