Talktalk landline - automated payment line

Paid over the talktalk automated payment line that was stated on their bill on my O2 mobile, they took the amount, the card details but no account or bill reference. I then called customer services to be told that the amount I paid wasn't even the right amount? So I paid the amount they said to pay and now they have taken both payments, I've emailed and asked on their talktalk forum but to make matters more complicated I was paying my 100 year old Grandmas bill! Any ideas folks?

  • Won't the overpayment simply be applied as a credit on the account and be used to offset the next bill?

Unless it's an amount that you must have back, let it ride.

Is there online access that you can use to check that the payments have credited the correct account?
