Updating title deed

My MIL passed away recently and my FIL is going to sell his house soon to move closer to us.
They own the property as joint tenants so the house automatically go to him.
I just want to double check if he can wait for the sale of his house and do the name removal from the Deed as part of the sale or does he need to do that now to avoid any delays?
Just easier if it can be done as part of the sale process, if it doesn't cause any delays.
