iPad + AirPrinter

I’m looking for an AirPrinter, all I have is an iPad so I’m told this is the only way/ best way to go.
I really only need it for occasional, very occasional, use and was advised to go laser as ink clogs up if not used on a regular basis.
Having searched the internet I see some advertised as WiFi enabled, is that the same as AirPrint? As I’ll only be using the printer rarely I’m looking something that will do the task as simple as possible and it seems AirPrint is the easiest but most seem to advertise wi-fi enabled - any advice?
As it’s only for occasional use black and white is all I need. AirPrint and price are the priorities

AirPrint just means that your WiFi enabled printer has been certified to work seamlessly with Apple devices
you can print to non-AirPrint WiFi printers but might need to jump through a few hoops.I’m guessing that most modern WiFi printers are AirPrint compatible - but you would need to check to be certain. The full list of compatible printers can be found here:

Inkjet vs laser. Yes some truth but don’t overthink it.0 -
Exactly how infrequently do you need to print? For me it’s maybe once or twice a year, and I just upload my document to the iCloud which I can access and print at my local library. Costs about 65p for colour printing, less for b&w. It’s not worth me buying a printer.1

I’ve tried my local library on a few occasions and their WiFi was always down ! Like BridgetTheCat said. She pints once or twice a year, I might print four or five times a year0

The advantage of AirPrint is you can use the built in protocols so print from any app. I have a Brother wireless printer but it doesnt support AirPrint and so to print from the iPad you have to go into the Brother app and load the webpage/document or whatever and print from that app. It's fine for most things but is a bit of a faff for emails or file formats the app doesnt support as you then have PDF them first and then print it.
We also have an Epson printer and it does support AirPrint but its injet, rarely used and so often clogs up (the yellow is now permanently damages as many cleaning cycles haven't fixed it.1 -
AirPrint printers tend to be quite expensive. Not much change from £100 for a mono laser. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
