Sorry for another post, but they escalated to a manger. The advice is that I should do a return this year but there's an updated box on the online form that allows us to opt in to this service, meaning this year's tax return will be my last. I'm not sure I believe it... I'll keep an eye on this thread!0

What you have been told is complete nonsense.stayloa said:Sorry for another post, but they escalated to a manger. The box on the return they are referring to is simply to keep your tax code up to date, this has always been possible with HICBC and it wouldn't mean you stop having to compete tax returns.
The way to avoid tax returns (if HICBC is the only reason for needing to do one) is to use this new service.0 -
I spoke to HMRC last week and they told me I can stop submitting tax returns from now on and they will collect the HICBC due via PAYE. Sadly, I still have to do the tax return for 2024/25 even though the MSE article suggests I can opt in for that tax year too.0

Does anyone know how gift aid will be treated under the PAYE system. Previously under the self assesment system. I could get a small reduction in my HICBC by filling out the gift aid section. Have we now lost this this entitlement or is the PAYR system aware of charitable giving?0

You may need to tell HMRC about the Gift Aid each year but you are perfectly entitled to get the same benefit through PAYE.timgomm said:Does anyone know how gift aid will be treated under the PAYE system. Thanks! Would that be by emailing them directly, or is there some sort of online form that isn't Self Assesment to notifying them.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:

If you look at the tax code section of your Personal Tax Account you should find some links about missing info, one of which istimgomm said:
