Hi, looking for more advice please. Received an email from Zopa saying account has defaulted and to contact to set up payment plan or for them to offer a discount to settle full amount of 13,176. I am currently waiting for info from trans Union to log my unaffordability complaint with the ombudsman as Zopa have not upheld the complaint. It shows on app as default but not on any of my credit scores. Is now the time to act or wit till its passed on or shows on my credit report? Any help is appreciated thanks.

There`s no rush to do anything, deep breath, take your time, debt collection is a very s-l-o-w process, nothing`s going to happen if you wait a few weeks to check on that default.
I`d be asking Zopa why they have not complied with the consumer credit act, in particular, sec 87(1) the need for a default notice?.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. @Sourcrates I did receive a letter weeks ago advising they give me 14 days to contact them or they would issue a default and I've heard nothing more other than emails asking me to contact them. No other letters.0

Well emails/texts/phone calls can all be ignored.
You only need take any notice if you are written too, in a letter, legally that`s all that matters.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. @Sourcrates, this default is now showing on my credit report, can you confirm if I still continue to wait please? No hard copy letters, just another email asking me to contact them same as original post. Thanks again for any advise.0

There is a requirement to send a hard copy of a default notice in the post, but lenders don`t always follow guidance as they should.Fluffykittens_me said:@Sourcrates, this default is now showing on my credit report, can you confirm if I still continue to wait please? If its showing on your credit report, then you are good to go, but if I were you I`d wait and see what they choose to do with the account, they could either sell it, or assign it, whatever it is, they must write to you, not just send an email.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
