It looks like they're having great craic over at Stormont though, I'd be out there with a tray too if I lived closer lol

Hubby and I went for a walk in it earlier, the forest here looked fantastic but loads of people getting stuck on the main drive of the estate. People don't know to drive in second with high powered engines. Found a couple trying to get their beemer on the road so hubby helped push while I drove it out.

We had to laugh when a van got stuck on the hill and within seconds the passenger was out to the back getting the shovel out, we wondered how many times the poor sod had to do it today. Bet the other one was glad he'd bagged driver for the day lol

My car's staying where it is for now...

Oh and I thought it was me! Page 1 only the same. And my post went peculiar on spacing. I've been tinkering for the last 30 mins. Working from home today, forgot to say in previous post, went off topic on a rant - sorry folks!

Incidentally, just an 'interesting fact'. Do you know that one of the biggest reasons for accidents in snowy canada is 4x4s? Apparently city folk and foreigners buy/rent these things and then think they are safe as houses.... those without 4 whl drive are more cautious and that is the real key to winter driving!

  • Maybe so talksalot and as much as I dislike 4x4's, I'd rather be driving a 4x4 in the heavy snow compared to a rear wheel drive car. My friend has a Porsche Cayman and couldn't manage to control it at all in the snow even at low speeds-he just had to park it up and wait. Although maybe he just can't drive...lol! I just work from home when the weather gets that bad-hate driving in really bad conditions after writing off my last car on black ice two Christmasses ago (although thankfully it was only a little Fiat and no-one was injured!)!

Anyway here's hoping for more snow-I much prefer my fire to the horrible air conditioning in my office!
  • I missed all the fun as I was in Dublin until yesterday evening!!

One of the guys from work was telling me it took him 6 hours to get from Drogheda to Belfast on Thursday!

Too far down south so no snow at all! I'd love to have some here as I really love it, though if it was anything like we've seen on the TV up north - then NO! I do feel so very sorry for all of you up there, even more so for all those stranded in cars or halls for the night.

Do take care everyone - and keep safe!

    Sue.
