Wrong Vehicle Registration Entered for Blue Badge Exemption

Hello,

My mother is a blue badge holder and has been visiting a nearby hospital for some appointments recently. As a blue badge holder she is entitled to free parking at the hospital and had to register her car on the GroupNexus portal, which she did.

She has now received a PCN for not paying for parking, and upon checking the GroupNexus portal for her blue badge registration, I found she had entered one of the numbers in her number plate wrong, so instead of AB21 CDE it was AB71 CDE.

She has already contacted the hospital regarding this, and they have said there is nothing they can do and she needs to follow the appeal process.

Should she try to appeal this on the basis it was a typo, or go down the standard appeals advice in this forum?

Thanks,

BL

PALS should be able to cancel the pcn,  definitely,  for her,  reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act 2010

If PALS cannot or wont help, complain about it to the CEO of the trust,  plus copy in your local MP too

One character error should be cancelled as a minor keying error

Appeal stating the typo and ask Group Nexus to cancel the PCN (minor keying error) and to update the Blue Badge registration to the correct VRM and confirm how long the car is exempted until (exact expiry/renewal date needed).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

....... and you might ask PALS why the hospital is requiring Blue Badge holders to do more than a non-Blue Badge holder does.  Blue Badge holders have that badge because they need more time to walk somewhere or open their doors wider to allow ingress/egress.

Are all car users required to register, or is it just vlue badge holders?
What do they do if an occupant of a car needs reasonable adjustments as a result of a disability, but does not, or does not yet possess a blue badge?
