Ah silly me now I understand - the police would not investigate because the person accused would say they didn't do it.....
And also now understand that a burglar would have had to have burgled several places before the police became interested as it would not be a criminal offence or anything to just burgle one place0 -
The police didn't even come out when a neighbour was burgled.mta999 said:Ah silly me now I understand - the police would not investigate because the person accused would say they didn't do it.....

Likewise when my car was broken into for the 3rd time, gave me the crime reference number over the phone and said they could come out if I wanted but it would be a week or two and not use the car in the interim. On the first time they did send someone out and said because all the internals of the car were textured there was no point looking for prints and they can't use prints from the outside of the car.sheramber said:

When our flat was broken into their main advice was to improve the lock on the door and to inform the local secondhand CD sales places what had been taken, particularly mine which weren't common CDs0 -
Ha ha, the username was simply a song I was listening to when I registered, from the new (and mighty) Cardiacs album!born_again said:Only way they would stand a chance of getting police involved, would be if they could find several other people that they have done this too.
Odds on that the facebook profile is a new one that will be gone & they start a new one up.
All though OP's username may give people a hint 🤦♀️🤷♀️🤣1 -
Thanks all for your suggestions and help - I’ve passed this on to my pal. She had spoken to Action Fraud already, so fingers crossed for any kind of outcome. Cheers. X0
