DCBL - Please help advice needed

Hi all, I’ve read through the Newbies forum but still need some advice.

I’ve received a letter titled “Notice of Debt Recovery” from DCBL regarding Euro Car Parks fines dating back to early 2024. The letter shows a total of £840 across 6 different charges. I know the general advice is to ignore debt recovery letters and not to make contact, but I’m a bit confused because I’ve previously had DCBL letters for charges from the same location, some of which I agreed to pay and am still paying monthly.

What’s confusing is that whenever I’ve called DCBL in the past to check if there were any outstanding charges, they told me there weren’t, yet now I’ve suddenly received this. I haven’t contacted Euro Car Parks to dispute these charges yet.

I feel stupid both for parking there so many times and for paying without seeking proper advice earlier. At this stage, should I ignore the debt recovery notice, dispute the charges directly with Euro Car Parks, or contact DCBL?

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters,  post 4 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements

Keep all your paperwork etc for a possible future claim via MCOL

Never contact the debt collectors , especially DCBL, but do come back to this thread if you receive a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice,  or a Money Claim using MCOL,  that DCB LEGAL have initiated

Only the private parking company would know how many invoices are outstanding,  so the organ grinder not the dancing monkey   !

That letter is already shown in pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES THREAD. Eeek - you agreed to PAYMENT PLANS?! Cancel those immediately. STOP PAYING.

But PLEASE SHOW page 2 of that letter where DCB break down the PCNs to show the MHCLG that they are adding multiples of £70 for ONE poxy letter!

Please do this while you wait for DCB Legal's LBC:

FIGHTBACK ALERT - just days to go!

Please do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline. See this thread:

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam over 18 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

    CLOSES THIS FRIDAY.

For inspiration read the Which? response they've just published:
