british gas trust - grants
hi all
i saw the interview suggesting grants, i tried the link but it didnt work so i rang british gas. my problem is that i am fine in the summer months then as winter hits i can guarentee that my feb statement will leave me hundreds of pounds in debt with my electricity. when i rang british gas they gave me this number for the british gas trust foundation 01773 421021.
i rang the number and am being sent a application pack, the women said to fill it out and then send it back, although they do not help in the long term they will pay out any outstanding balance if the grant is approved which i think i may actually leave untill i have recieved my next quarterly statement, although this is playing the game it will help me a great deal as if approved it will pay off the outstanding debt and allow me to switch providers when it is ok to do so.
at the moment im paying £56 a month for gas and £78 a month for electricity so if your in a similar situation i would give it a try.
if your not with british gas just give your provider a ring and ask if they do something similar as it only took me a 5min phone call and could really help me

good luck on this - i tried to get help with my water bill but, because i dont have mortgage arrears or any court fine arrears i wasnt eligible so - you either basically have to be rich enough to own your own house/have a mortgage or be a criminal...no good to me as i cant afford a mortgage and aint a crim.....good luck - hope the terms arent the same....0
