thanks, i haven't been registered as self employed always PAYE but when our children were little we had child benefit which i had to pay some back so i have UTR number from the self assessment which i have also provided to them but its several years old.

If you still have a UTR you can call HMRC and ask for a copy of it sent to you. That would give you something up to date. I don't know Vinted at all but I'm getting used to having various verifications with different marketplaces and some of them can't listen to reason as they don't have any human interface. I've not had UTR sent to me for a while so they may not still do that, you may have to find it online, it used to be fairly quick to receive it. For £850 I'd do my best to work out the best way of getting there, repeatedly telling them you aren't a business doesn't seem to be working for you.
Thanks yes I will try that I did send them a screen shot of my UTR, I'll take them to a small claim court if I don't get the money they keep saying they have to follow the rules which I reply I'm not asking to to break them but just can I speak to someone to tell me why my id is not accepted even if that's the problem,  it seems to be the business proof but its not 100% clear. One thing I'll stick to ebay in the future
