Should I just pay up?

Please note: I parked on the white hard standing, I made sure I wasn’t obstructing the path (the ticket isn’t for obstruction),
Last week I parked here and the next day I’d received a ticket for parking in a restricted area. I appealed this and the appeal had been declined. They’ve stated:
You are not allowed to park on verges or footways if there is a yellow line on the adjacent carriageway. The restriction applies from the centre of the road to the highway boundary on the side of the road that the marking is on.
Please be advised that no signage is required where a double yellow line is in place marking the restriction.
I have to admit I wasn’t aware this was the rule and now wonder if I should challenge further as it’s not clear where the boundary is or just pay it?
Thoughts appreciated- thanks.

Difficult to see how you could park on that standing without at least partially obstructing the pavement.0

I presume that a council issued the charge, so I suggest that you post your query over on the FTLA parking forum website after reading their posting requirements first, including naming the location, council, pictures of the charge etc ( they are more experienced in council tickets )2
