I’m back to my original confusion then. I was trying to square in my head why you’d apply for NI credits under HRP, when if you’d been receiving ChB then that period would already be covered with an NI credit? I think I get it now though…Yamor said:

If she’s got gaps, then are HMRC saying she had Child Benefit but not NI credits associated with it? (Leaving aside the potential Overpayment for now).
It reduced the number of years needed to be eligible for the full pension.
A full year of HRP knocked one year off the number needed.Part years did not count.0
