Migration from ESA to UC

Hi all,

A friend of mine was sent a letter telling  her she must start the migration from ESA to UC. She got someone from a local charity to help her fill the form out with her and today she's been told that her money will be reduced by 3/4 but she's also been told that she can't appeal the decision but I wanted to know if this was correct and if it is incorrect information that she's received what are her options.

Kind regards mark

If she is still receiving New-Style ESA payments then it's probably correct as it's deducted from UC in full.  But she should check she's receiving all of the elements she's entitled in her UC calculation just to make sure.

In this situation, either obtain all information and then post  or sit with the friend with their consent and tell them you will ask on MSE in an anonymous way to gain clarity on the situation.

Best to get them to ask the local charity who helped her fill in forms to help or their local CAB.
