Octopus - selecting new tariff with a few weeks left on current tariff?
Comments
-
Normally Octopus will apply the new tariff from when your old tariff expires1
-
A few weeks ago I switched to a new fix from a fix that was due to end a few weeks later,.
The switch was immediate.
On Monday I helped my my friend to switch to a new fix from his current that was due to end on October 25th
The new fix is due to commence on 25th October
Both instances with Octopus so it’s anybodies guess0 -

The provider should ask you in the application process when you want to change tariff.
A lot of people miss that box!1 -
Or if you email them or ring the just tell them which you want.1

I didn’t look for a loss or gain of a few pounds either way for such a short period0
-
No but that might explain Octopus' actions?0
-
Absolutely
Their couple of pounds here and there means little difference to me but to them it could be millions
Good luck to them if it keeps the rates low1 -
Thanks for your replies everyone.I might click through to the terms to check if they have an option to select active immediately or after current fix.0
