MET Parking & Southgate Park, Stansted Airport.

This is more of a rant than anything else, with maybe the hope that a little discussion will put my mind at ease regarding the injustice of it all.
Other parking operators such as NCP and APCOA seem to be able to realise 99% of the time that once a keeper replies that Airport Land is not relevant land for the purposes of PoFA, that they have no hope and cancel the PCN.
With that in mind, what the hell is up with MET Parking??? It has been 10 months and they are still chasing a PCN for the Mcdonalds at Southgate Park, Stansted Airport. Their ability to ignore the written word is monumental. They deal with each of my complaints as appeals, and as I can no longer appeal, just ignore them with the same template reply. Debt Recovery Plus have sent I think 9 letters to date, each one has apparently be a hairs breadth away from a CCJ. When I spoke to them the 'manager' actually said - "Do you not think a large company like MET Parking know the law better than you". Super helpful.
I have formally complained to the DVLA and BPA and waiting on whatever comes of that. I know MET can't do anything to make me pay, but I find the inability to stop them chasing on a legal front frustrating when they are actually breaking the law.
I know the DVLA have suspended or removed completely parking companies access to keeper data via KADOE contract before. I am wondering how many complaints they have to get regarding keeper data being used unlawfully to transfer liability before they do something? With DVLA being a public agency, a FOI request could potentially reveal exactly how many requests have been made by MET, but I don't know if the any of that information reveal location information?
It's all just so frustrating.

HI, the same thing happened to me on 11th September at the same car park. MET sent me a parking notice to which I appealed against. I tried to do it online but their email address is not recognized and had to sent the appeal by post today.1

Please explain "breaking the law" which law ?
Pofa2012 is not mandatory, so they and other private parking companies like the grey areas, obfuscation
They are chasing the keeper based on contract law, be it right or wrong, a judge could decide the outcome, in civil court, within the 6 years allowed by the Limitations Act 1980 in England and Wales
Have a read of some of the other airport and Stansted Airport threads where members like doubledotcom have replied
Plus have a look at the Joe Lycett video too
Never phone the powerless foolish amateur debt collectors, they cannot obtain a CCJ
Lastly, make a difference, fill in the current government public survey consultation and try to get the system changed by regulation of the sector at long last. One week until it closes2 -

It is not OK to send a postal appeal; especially not on a Friday... absolutely not!
Hope you did NOT appeal as driver!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And yes, the DVLA used to come down on this sort of conduct like a ton of bricks (when David Dunford was in charge) but not any more. They'll fob you off as they are far, far too pally with the BPA.
You could read up on the DMCC Act then raise a complaint with the CMA. They are not in anyone's pocket. See what happens.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon-mad said:It is a misleading omission or misleading conduct: a civil offence under the DMCC Act 2024 which the CMA regulates with traders liable for fines. Google & read the new powers the CMA has this year to enforce that Act.

Please do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline. See this thread:
We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.
I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.
Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam over 18 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.
CLOSES THIS FRIDAY.
