Amex / Virgin CC points rewards

Annual Spend - circa 20k
Aim - Vegas Flights 2027 x 2

Used Virgin paid for card last year (£160 annual fee) and got companion voucher and upgrade one way for 2 people for circa £1000. Downgraded the card now as not sure which way I want to go and opened Amex gold for welcome bonus (20k points). Unsure whether to pursue the Avios route and BA, change to BA Card / BA Paid for card and get a companion ticket for BA or simply convert my AMEX points to virgin miles. Virgin have recently changed to dynamic pricing and doesn't seem as good? Thoughts on people in same boat?

BA -v- VS is very much about destinations. VS UC is much better than the old BA CW but their destinations are much more restrictive unless you have a love for US trips. BA is rolling out their new CW offering and haven't personally tried it.

I favour BA because of the choice plus have a Barclay's Avios for where AmEx isnt accepted

Depends if this is a one off or something you look to do regularly... Vegas is an option for VS but isnt somewhere I would go many times to, the same can be said for the US in general outside of work, which is why I prefer BA because no matter my choice pretty much they or a OneWorld partner flies there.
