Shared ownership and universal credit.

Morning all. I have a question and cannot find an answer to this online
I'm hoping someone might know.
So atm we are renting and on universal
credit and receive 610 towards our rent as 610 is our local housing rate in our area for a 3 bedroom.
So we have been looking at shared ownership properties recently and the rent element is 700. So been on benefit calculators entitledto and turn2us and says we will get the whole 700 rent paid for. Which a dont get as the local housing rate is 610.
sorry for the long winded post🤣
just unsure if this right or wrong
thanks

Shared ownership is different to normal rent under UC. Normal private rent comes under local housing allowance rules, whereas shared ownership is not bound by local housing allowance rules.
So the benefit calculators you have used are correct. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.2 -
Thank you for that.0
